When BY TERRY created this nourishing balm back in 2003, the brand had no idea it would gain cult classic status so quickly. A favorite of Parisian models and Hollywood actresses, the daily essential plumps and soothes chapped lips with a blend of precious actives. Pure rose essential wax smoothes away roughness, while shea butter doubles the formula's moisturizing powers, bio-ceramides undo the look of fine lines, and lipid spheres help skin retain hydration. Plus, it also works as a luxe nail treatment for dry cuticles.
I wanted to love this because of the raves I heard about it and the price tag but it is nothing more than a rose scented lip balm. :-( Using neosporin lip balm is better than the Baume de Rose and it only costs about $3. I am hesitant to try any other By Terry products now. If I could return this I would.1
Less than impressed by this lackluster brand. I figured for $60, I'd at least be pleasantly surprised by either the product or the housing. Sadly, I was disappointed by both. The product itself is sticky. I've seen better $2 lip balms. The top of the pot is silver painted PLASTIC. The bottom is glass...why not make the top metal?? Instead of just looking like metal?! For $60 a company definitely should be able to at least do that. Overall, don't buy this. It's overhyped and honestly I like Burts Bees lip balm much better. Try the coconut and pear.2
This product is fabulous - I am hooked. I need to order one for the office and one for home. I have to carry this in my bag so I always have it available! I do love to use on my lips, but do not suffer from chapped lips. But I have always had a problem with dry cuticles. I have used many cuticle products and this is the ONLY thing that has ever provided healing and relief!
Everyone NEEDS this in their life!
I'm a bit of a lip balm buff, so I was really excited about trying this. The price is crazy steep, so I waited to purchase it until I could get it for $20 + oodles of Birchbox points. I can't say I'd purchase it again. While it lasts for a really long time and feels quite good while it's on, it didn't do any of the miraculous lip healing it claimed in the description. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and my lips still feel the same level of chapped when it has worn off. I use a nice thick coating of it every night, and I reapply it every morning. When I have it nearby I apply it during the day as well. Definitely not worth $60 in my opinion.3
I read such amazing reviews about this product.... And they were all correct. The price scared me for a long time, but I saved Birchbox points and got it at a great price. Now having it, I don't think I could live without it! My lips are the worst. My husband says I have scaly lips. After using this one time, my lips are soft and smooth! I will definitely spend the money to replace it when I run out!5
I highly recommend this product to anybody who suffers from dry lips. My lips were so dry that they were peeling and looked so dry. I apply the lip balm overnight and went I woke up my lips were like new. My lips were softer.5
Don't get me wrong--I LOVE this product, but is it worth the price tag? I don't think so. I wouldn't buy it again. But it does feel amazing and smells like roses. If you're wanting to splurge on a lip balm, this is great, but I don't think it is life changing enough to recommend to everyone!4
This was gifted to me from a friend of mine. #1) the price... holy wow. With high price, comes high expectations. (Which unfortunately were far from met) It seems like many people rave about this balm = confused. #2) The smell... so unappealing in my opinion. It smells like straight up roses that would be in your grandmother's bathroom. #3) vaseline does more of the trick than this stuff. Luckily, I wasn't the one who spent $60.00 on it.2
I'm an easy sell and cult items are never lost on me. I love a good indulgent product but this was lackluster. The rose scent was nice and the texture lovely but it did nothing for my chapped lips..... For the cost I just don't get it. The scent alone is not enough. A nice heavy lip cream. That's it.2
Love it. You get what you pay for. This stuff is amazing and a little goes a long way. It's a little pricey but it can last you almost a full year. It also works great for cuticles. I use for my lips, cuticles and as a blush.5
