A laundry list of complex ingredients does not the mud mask make. This handcrafted Buttermilk Sandalwood Honey Mud from Wisconsin-based Wild Honey Apothecary shows that sometimes a few ingredients are all that you need. Using organic, pure skin-beautifiers, the mask exfoliates, nourishes, and brightens. Nothing complicated here.
This was ok. I was a little turned off by the texture as you are literally putting honey on your face mixed with sugar grains. As the mask sits on your face, due to your body heat, the mask melts and it gets sticky at it goes into your mouth and if you are not careful your eyes and hairline. No dramatic results noted.3
This was a great mask. I loved the natural ingredients. Not my favorite mask but still good.4
I love the natural component of this and it worked well, but I had a lot of trouble getting it out of the bottle. It was too viscous. I ended up having to thin it by adding water, which probably decreased the effectiveness some too as well.4
The texture and scent of this product was delightful. The scent was not overbearing. My skin felt smooth after using this product.5
I found that this product was runny and not thick enough to remain on the skin long enough for me to exfoliate. It smells wonderful,so I use it in the shower on my face & neck. Was disappointed in the exfoliation feature but delighted with the aroma of the product. I think if you only use it in the shower to smell clean and fresh you will like the product for that feature.3
I am a huge fan of natural procuts and the fact that this one states on the bottle when it was made and a best used by date completely thrills me! This product smells great, exfoliates great, and its not a burden when it ends up in your mouth because it tastes pretty good too. The only downside is it can be messy to apply.4
Bought this because I needed a hydrating mask. I was sold when I saw that it was all-natural. It does have a honey smell (as it's made with honey), and the texture is also thick like honey, but it warms up in your hands and is very easy to apply. Love the glass bottle. Love the price! Will purchase again. Makes my skin super soft!5
It was hard to get out of the sample bottle and it's a nice feeling to get a scrub on your face, but I thought it was too strong of a honey smell.2
I am amazed by the products I've found through Birchbox thus far. This mask is pretty moisturizing, is very gentle on your skin and smells so wonderful, natural and easy to use. As described, nothing comblicated here, and it wasn't irritating to my sensitive skin. Bravo, I'll be back for more and thanks Birchbox!!5
I like the idea of this mask and the all-natural ingredients, but I didn't notice a lot of impact after using it. I didn't have the tingly-clean feeling that I often get after using masks, and I didn't feel 100% comfortable putting something so sticky on my acne-prone face.3
