We think even the pickiest sommeliers would approve of this reusable duo (though the Two-Buck Chuck you’re fond of drinking may not be so lucky). Originally designed for traveling wine salespeople to use when offering samples of their wares, the pro-quality, easy-to-transport decanter and glass are made of BPA-free polymer (they won’t shatter, even if you drop them). Toss ’em in your bag for your next picnic, concert in the park, wherever—they do “go anywhere,” after all.
The quality of this product is abysmal. I don't why they bother emphasizing that they won't shatter. I bet they'd bounce, though, given the cheap plastic construction. I won't be tossin' 'em anywhere as they'd surely collapse under the slightest amount of weight. Wildly disappointed I wasted hard earned BB points on this product.1
This is completely my fault because clearly polymer is not glass but these are PLASTIC. Not something I would ever want to drink wine out of. And a cheap flimsy plastic that is no duh shatterproof but is easily bendable. I am SO disappointed that I bought these. Or rather that I wasted my BB points on these. Sigh.1
I bought this knowing that it was "plastic" because it states that in the description. What I was not expecting was the low quality - especially the price. It is not designed well, either - before you drink, it is convenient enough to carry as the "cup" fits over the top of the decanter. Once you pour a drink, you have to carry them separate, as the cup does not allow remaining liquid to go into the decanter - it goes down the sides and makes a mess. It is now sitting in my cabinet taking up space...1
The plastic is very thin. Yes, the design is nice but heed the warning "hand wash". I did put a few in the dishwasher and that was a very bad idea. Had I seen this in the store I would not have paid this much.2
I love this idea but I wish it came with 2 glasses. We go to Friday wine concerts so they come in handy3
It's good for a picnic but not something you can use everyday. DO NOT PUT IN THE DISHWASHER!!! These will melt!!!3
This are really nice for using when outside dice they won't shatter but I kinda wish the decanter was a little bigger3
I picked this up on impulse while shopping on Birchbox and am so happy I did! I use it for water on my nightstand.4
These are great to use on the go or for a picnic/tailgate. DO hand wash them because they will lose shape/color immediately. The thumb notch is a fun addition.4
Reasons why I bought this:
* I already own a 4-pack of the glasses, so this expands the set.
* I live in California, which is now effectively all wine country. But I also live right in the middle of wine country, so much wine is consumed. Plus, the weather is always nice. I think it's a against the law for there to be bad weather there. So anyway, it's almost always picnic weather. Govino is super light, it won't add weight to the picnic basket.
* My friends are clumsy. They break stuff. Hopefully they won't break this. Note that I won't admit to being clumsy.
But I also like using this as a water carafe for the nightstand, or for "morning juice" like mimosas and bloody marys at brunch.
