This scent has a story worth repeating: on a hike in the mountains of Italy, Atelier Cologne founders Sylvie Ganter and Christopher Cervasel stumbled upon a rare flower known to locals as the Brunello. They had never smelled anything like it — there seemed to be a whole ambery bouquet contained within the single bloom. After returning home, they were inspired to create a scent that paid homage to their fragrant memory, and Ambre Nue was born. This highly concentrated Cologne Absolue — 18 percent, to be exact — is the latest addition to the Atelier line.
This perfume smells great and lasts all day long. My only complaint is that my sample is too small! I would purchase, but $70 perfume is a little too much for my college student budget!5
I am very into this perfume. I am not one for flowers scents and this has a very warm feel to it. I usually wear Burberry but I may have to switch it up and purchase this. I have already gotten compliments on it after wearing it for 1 day. LOVE.5
It is very strong when first used but as it fades a bit it smells amazing. Favorite date night scent but I never use a lot of it because of how strong it is. I do love it. :)5
I love Atelier Cologne! The first scent that I sampled through this brand is the Rose Anonyme, and it was love at first smell. I was super excited about this scent, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. I absolutely adore earthy notes like myrrh and sandalwood, and this Ambre Nue fragrance incorporates floral notes to create an amazing bouquet of amber. If youre a fan of musk, this fragrance should be at the top of your list.5
this stuff smells amazing. sort of strong, but if you don't load it on, you'll be fine. This will be my new perfume purchase.5
I love the smell of this cologne, but it IS very strong so use sparingly! A little goes a long way!5
I've received a few perfume samples from my Birchboxes and this one is by far the best. The description is right on and it just smells lovely!5
a warm amber-ish scent - my favorite of all the scent samples so far.5
I have to admit, in my December Birchbox, this and the dry shampoo were tied for things I was most excited to try. The story behind the scent was just too intriguing.
Out of the phial, the initial note is a fresh mandarin, over subtle amber. On the skin, the amber really warms up, with a hint of spice, and the mandarin is joined by a soft floral. It smells almost creamy. Myrrh seems to bridge between fruit and spice excellently.
After wearing for a while, the amber becomes a touch more powdery, and the mandarin goes slightly aquatic, though still carried quite well by the creamy jasmine.
Overall, this is a very comfortable scent to wear, I’d say fairly unisex. Not a lot of sillage, which I appreciate in my perfumes(if you can smell my perfume outside of a three foot radius, I’ve clearly applied too much). It also has a good wear length– four hours from a drop on my wrist, before it was pretty much faded to a memory of citrus.
If I wasn’t already inundated with a small hoard of perfumes I adore, this would definitely be on my wishlist, and I will enjoy my sample. Okay, it may yet go on my wishlist, because it is just a lovely scent.
I love this fragrance, but the price for the full size is a bit out of my budget. Thanks for including it in the box, though15
