Lulu Organics®’s organic hair powder is the hip younger sister of mainstream dry shampoos: she’s eco-conscious, health-savvy, and has vague plans of packing her bags and moving to Portland. Analogies aside, this winning natural formula revives second day locks by absorbing volume-zapping oil. It has a lovely lavender scent laced with the faintest trace of herbal clary sage. And since it leaves no chalky white residue behind, even dark-haired girls can use it.
This may be effective for someone who doesn't have curly hair. My hair is black and this powder is white. Since it's so curly, I never brush it. Finger combing is all I do. Since you need to brush your hair after you use this powder, it won't work for me.1
I personally am not a fan of hair powders. I've tried a few different kinds and haven't really liked any of them or what they've done for my hair. This one was definitely better than other ones I've tried but I still wasn't a huge fan of the powder.1
Lulu Organics® Lavender + Clary Sage Hair Powder is an ineffective dry shampoo. I have thin, fine, layered long hair. My whole life I have battled a very greasy looking head of hair on day two (meaning shower on Monday and Tuesday = oily scalp hair that on others would take 4 days). I followed the directions on the sample packaging and applied to my hair as directed. It did not do anything. I left it alone and checked it again at the end of the day - no visual change. A few days later I got the opportunity to try the dry shampoo again. This time I was generous in my usage of the product, thinking that maybe a little more would help soak up the oil. No such luck. Instead I ended up with grayish looking roots (rubbing, blotting and even a damp paper towel wouldn't make the gray flour look disappear). I had to conceal my hair for the day because I did not have enough time to shower (which is the reason for the dry option in the first place!). Oh and one more thing: I carefully tried to open the sample packaging, aware of it's flour like consistency, and it still exploded all over myself clothes, hands and surrounding objects. Major fail.1
I had high hopes for this product, as I usually wash my hair daily. My scalp is too oily to wash every other day. This is the first dry shampoo I've tried. I used a dime sized amount as recommended, and then doubled the amount. It didn't make my hair feel any less greasy. Too bad.1
I have light colored hair that is very fine, but very thick (basically I have lots and lots of baby fine strands) that shows grease very quickly. I tried this product a day after washing my hair (I usually wash every day) and didn't fine it to be effective in hiding the greasy look.1
This was a very unusual product for me, it really wasn't that effective.1
I have never used hair powered before and I still don't really see the hype about hair powder. Doesn't replace washing hair like advertised.1
I wash my hair every day, and keep getting these hair powder/dry shampoo products in my Birchbox. I'd never put these to actual use.1
I have curly hair and wash my nearly every day, so this product really isn't useful for me. I used it on one of my I'm-lazy-and-don't-want-to-wash-my-hair days and really didn't see any difference...or the point. The powder got everywhere and the smell was too strong for me.1
I've used dry shampoo in the past with mixed results, so I was looking forward to trying this product. I followed the directions and found that the product did absolutely nothing for my hair other than masking any unpleasant smell with the perfumes. Very disappointed.1
