Lulu Organics®’s organic hair powder is the hip younger sister of mainstream dry shampoos: she’s eco-conscious, health-savvy, and has vague plans of packing her bags and moving to Portland. Analogies aside, this winning natural formula revives second day locks by absorbing volume-zapping oil. It has a lovely lavender scent laced with the faintest trace of herbal clary sage. And since it leaves no chalky white residue behind, even dark-haired girls can use it.
I tried it twice on my oily hair (1 day after washing) and it made no difference whatsoever. It smelled nice but that's about it.1
Firstly, this only works on blondes as the powder is white. I have dark brown hair and no matter how much I brushed or rubbed it in, it was always faintly visible. Secondly, it was not effective at all. I make my own by mixing equal amounts of arrowroot powder and cocoa powder, and it is MUCH better!1
i wanted to like this but it just didn't work for me1
I would say the difference between this product and all the other dry shampoos out there is the fact that it is organic. I really enjoy the lavender scent. My issue is that I don't feel it is very effective for my super oily hair. My hair smells good but I didn't find it making that much a difference.1
As a redhead, I tend not to shampoo my hair on a regular basis to save my color, so I make use of dry shampoos pretty frequently. I've tried aerosols and powders alike and have found some to be effective and others to be so-so... Unfortunately, this product is on my "definitely no" list. It seemed to be effective in soaking up the oil in my hair, but it left so much residue that when I got out of the shower after shampooing I noticed tons of little flakes and had to jump back in the shower to shampoo it again. The only thing that saved this product was its refreshing scent (I'd love to have a candle around the house that smells as nice as this stuff does.)1
I waited until day 3 of washing my hair to test this product and I was greatly disappointed. Not only did it not absorb the grease of my hair, but the powder floated everywhere on my face & shoulders. I did enjoy the smell, but that is not enough for me to purchase this product.1
I was actually very excited to get this in my box. I really wanted to try a dry shampoo and although I loved the way this stuff smelt, my fears were confirmed in that I found that dry powder does bad things to dry curly hair. I, m sure it is great on strait oily hair. Not for me though.1
I can't say I like the idea of dry shampoo much. Not to mention I have very thick hair, so I had to use a lot more than the "dime sized" amount. I wash my hair every day and it's actually really healthy (even my hair stylist says so), so I don't really see the need for dry shampoo (for me at least)1
I've heard really great things about this product, and I love the labelling (though I'm not sure about the triangular paper packet), but I just can't deal with the scent.1
I like the idea of this product, but I personally found it to be ineffective. I used the amount recommended and noticed absolutely no difference in my hair at all.1
