Lulu Organics®’s organic hair powder is the hip younger sister of mainstream dry shampoos: she’s eco-conscious, health-savvy, and has vague plans of packing her bags and moving to Portland. Analogies aside, this winning natural formula revives second day locks by absorbing volume-zapping oil. It has a lovely lavender scent laced with the faintest trace of herbal clary sage. And since it leaves no chalky white residue behind, even dark-haired girls can use it.
I've tried a number of high-quality dry shampoos like Oscar Blandi and quick fixes like baby powder in the last couple years but this is my far my favorite product!! The thick chalk-like powder doesn't leave any residue on my brunette colored hair and smells delightfully fresh! I have thick hair too and powders allow me to build the amount of coverage I need. I bought the small lavender and clary sage sizes after my sample ran out (which make great travel sizes) and found myself preferring the clary sage scent. I've since bought the large version of the product and use it as a staple in my hair care routine. It's a bit pricey but a little goes a long way5
This product was a little bit too white for my liking but it smelled very nice. I would recommend it for people with light colored hair.4
I'm liking this dry shampoo powder so far! I noticed the texture and consistency is like baking soda, and lo and behold, the ingredients say baking soda. The powder smells like lavender, but does not smell overwhelming in your hair. It washes easily off your hands. I put a dime-sized amount on my fingers, spread them between my hands, and brushed the powder onto the roots of my hair. So far, my hair doesn't feel or look greasy. I'm leaning towards purchasing this product once I'm done with my sample. Definitely a product worth trying.3
I tend to get oily hair just about 24 hours after my last shampoo. Dry shampoos are fantastic to use to keep my hair from being too oily. The powder does a great job with a great scent!4
I am already a devotee of another dry shampoo discovered on Birchbox and was prepared not to like this one as much. HOWEVER, it is great. It smells wonderful, a huge plus, and really soaks up the oil at my roots and boosts the volume of my hair. Only down side is that it is a little messy, but I do prefer it over an aerosol.5
I really like this I use it all the time, mi think it works really well it dosnt leave my hair white after using it and it smells really good! I like it better than the spray . I've had mine for a long time it lasts!5
I love this hair powder for many reasons! But the big 2 are that it smells LOVELY, like lavender, and it doesn't leave residue in dark hair!5
For years Lulu's dry shampoos have as much of a staple for me as tinted lip balm and sunscreen. It's one of the very few pleasures that no matter how destitute I become I don't think I'll ever give it up. I have very fine, dry hair that I've tried to please with a million different shampoos and in the end, limiting gentle washes to once or twice a week, and using Lulu's hair powder on other days has allowed me to allow it to grow strong and healthy while looking (and smelling) fresh and clean. The powder soaks up oil and give such great texture that no one ever believes me when I tell them how rarely I actually wash it.
It's also invaluable post-yoga, on road trips and during camping trips/festivals. I may or may not dust a little here and everywhere that needs freshening up in those situations. ;)
This product is a great idea, but the smell and texture just were not for me. I didn't like the way it felt in my hair and wasn't a fan of the smell either. Just wasn't something I'd be interested in.1
I bought the full size of this product. the sample lost the lavender scent before I finished using it but I assume that was because it was open to the air. I hope the container retains the scent. That is what I like most about this product.4
