Lulu Organics®’s organic hair powder is the hip younger sister of mainstream dry shampoos: she’s eco-conscious, health-savvy, and has vague plans of packing her bags and moving to Portland. Analogies aside, this winning natural formula revives second day locks by absorbing volume-zapping oil. It has a lovely lavender scent laced with the faintest trace of herbal clary sage. And since it leaves no chalky white residue behind, even dark-haired girls can use it.
I loved this product. I have never thought dry shampoo was effective and always would use baby powder instead on days of unwash. This is similar to baby powder except with much higher quality and is much more effective5
I'm not sure I could tell this product was very effective. I also didn't like having to use my hands to apply it. For the price, I'd rather use something that I can spray on. I loved the sample packaging, although when I opened it some of the powder sprayed everywhere. I just can't imagine spending $30 for something I don't absolutely love.4
I was excited to try this product as I have oily hair and have never been happy with day-after-wash hair. The product smelled great, and I had high hopes of being able to have at least acceptable hair between washes. Unfortunately, the product just did not work for me. My hair continued to feel and look oily, and each time I have tried it, I end up washing my hair later in the day because it just feels heavy (in the "too much product in my hair" way). The caveat here is that I have never used dry shampoos before, so I am unable to compare this to other products intended to do the same thing. It may, in fact, just be that dry shampoos in general are ineffective on my combination of fine and oily hair. This product might be worth a try if you have had success with other dry shampoos in the past.3
This product smells very nice, and freshened my hair up a bit, but I probably won't buy it because I do wash my hair every day (can't help it!) If you give your hair a break, this would be great to use between washings.4
I'm a new mom, and this has become my go-to for days I don't have time to wash and dry my hair. It smells AMAZING, unlike those icky aerosol sprays I used to use, although I do find that with thick, long hair I need quite a bit (and sometimes two applications a few minutes apart) for it to make a big difference, especially on my bangs, which tend to be greasiest.
(On a related note, my baby girl has TONS of hair, and since it's organic I don't hesitate to use a tad on her as well from time to time, too!)
Just when you thought your do was done... Lulu organics hair powder to the rescue!
I have purchased this product several times over the years. It does the job well. All of the other "dry-shampoos" or powders I've tried seem a bit harsh. This is a nice, clean and light powder that absorbs oil discretely. I have dark auburn hair and I've never had a problem with the powder being visible -- I just apply with my fingers and brush through. It has a pleasant scent but it is not overwhelming. I will continue to use/ rave about this product. It is a must have for me.
This is a good dry shampoo and works well for soaking up oil at the roots. However, the scent was much too strong for my tastes.2
I don't like using dry shampoo on my curly hair; it doesn't work well with the texture since I can't brush my hair dry.1
I really liked the packaging and the smell is really lovely. The smell also holds throughout the day.4
I really loved the scent of the powder, but I didn't think it lasted long enough. I will definitely continue to use it to see if a few more tries will make a difference, but I've tried spray dry shampoo that worked better.2
