Lulu Organics®’s organic hair powder is the hip younger sister of mainstream dry shampoos: she’s eco-conscious, health-savvy, and has vague plans of packing her bags and moving to Portland. Analogies aside, this winning natural formula revives second day locks by absorbing volume-zapping oil. It has a lovely lavender scent laced with the faintest trace of herbal clary sage. And since it leaves no chalky white residue behind, even dark-haired girls can use it.
Firstly, this only works on blondes as the powder is white. I have dark brown hair and no matter how much I brushed or rubbed it in, it was always faintly visible. Secondly, it was not effective at all. I make my own by mixing equal amounts of arrowroot powder and cocoa powder, and it is MUCH better!1
I like to use a lot of different dry shampoos for different effects and purposes. Some give added volume and texture. Others smell great or are convenient sprays. This one I love and will keep in my permanent rotation of dry shampoos. It smells beautiful, works immediately and effectively and is organic. What's not to love? It's a white powder, so if you have dark hair like me, you'll need to be sure to comb through or work it in, which is easy and quick. It doesn't leave odd white blobs in your hair, like some dry shampoos. It leaves your hair matte and shower-fresh. Love.5
I really wanted to like this as I have oily scalp and dry ends so I try to get away with not washing everyday. However, this would zap oil when I applied it but by the end of the day it seemed like my hair was even greasier than it is when I don't use anything at all on second day hair. There really wasn't much smell to it either and it was hard to apply. The sample packaging was terrible.2
I prefer this power type dry shampoo than spray type things. Whenever I apply a spray type shampoo, I feel like inhaling chemicals.4
i wanted to like this but it just didn't work for me1
I use dry shampoo a lot, so I was excited to try this. It worked pretty well, and the smell was nice. It's not the best dry shampoo I've ever used, but certainly not the worst either.4
I would say the difference between this product and all the other dry shampoos out there is the fact that it is organic. I really enjoy the lavender scent. My issue is that I don't feel it is very effective for my super oily hair. My hair smells good but I didn't find it making that much a difference.1
This product works well-- it absorbs oil great and doesn't leave any visible powder on your scalp. I wish it had a nicer fragrance though.4
I absolutely love the smell of this dry shampoo. It freshened up my roots quickly and didn't leave them looking chalky.4
i like this stuff, but i can do basically the same thing for a buck with baking soda, cornstarch, and lavender essential oil (which is actually what i do use for dry shampoo). i'd consider buying just for the convenience and pretty packaging if it wasn't so expensive.4
