Lulu Organics®’s organic hair powder is the hip younger sister of mainstream dry shampoos: she’s eco-conscious, health-savvy, and has vague plans of packing her bags and moving to Portland. Analogies aside, this winning natural formula revives second day locks by absorbing volume-zapping oil. It has a lovely lavender scent laced with the faintest trace of herbal clary sage. And since it leaves no chalky white residue behind, even dark-haired girls can use it.
I love the organic properties of this product, but I don't feel that it does as good of a job as the sprays. It's a little pricey, and I feel like I would go through it way too fast.4
This product works well to make your hair smell nice, but I didn't see that it was particularly effective at absorbing oil.4
Loved the smell! I love anything that smells like lavender. Dry shampoo just doesn't do it for me - I'd rather shower and clean my hair properly. Also love the vintage packaging though, so pretty.3
I can't say I like the idea of dry shampoo much. Not to mention I have very thick hair, so I had to use a lot more than the "dime sized" amount. I wash my hair every day and it's actually really healthy (even my hair stylist says so), so I don't really see the need for dry shampoo (for me at least)1
This product is really neat. I've heard about the dry shampoo but this is a little different. It made my normally matted/slept on hair smell fresh after a couple days without washing. It's cold outside where I am so an extra day without getting my hair wet is nice. The packaging of the sample was pretty unique, too.4
Smelt divine but was impractical. I opened the package very gently and still ended up with powder all over myself! It also didn't soak up oil in my hair that well and was far less effective than my normal dry shampoo. Really wanted to like this product as the packaging is so glam but I didn't.2
I really enjoyed the smell of this product, but for my thick hair I needed to use much more than just a dime size. Towards the middle of the day, my hair didn't look that fresh, so I am not sure how effective it is at decreasing oil in my hair. I am willing to try it again, though - because I really like the smell and idea behind the product. Maybe if I use much more the results will be better.4
I was really looking forward to using this product since my hair gets oily very fast. However, even though it smells GREAT, it did nothing for my oily hair. I've tried it twice already and have not seen any changes. Also, while I find the sample size to be generous enough, it is not easy to dispense since you have to tear open a packet and try not to get all of the powder in your palm. I also don't think a dime-sized amount that is recommended is enough. I have medium-length hair and used more of a nickel-sized amount.3
I prefer the spray type of dry shampoo. This one is kind of messy.3
I've tried a few dry shampoos out there but this one has been my favorite so far, the effectiveness of the the product plus the lavender scent being a little bit stronger than similar products made it a win for me.5
