Lulu Organics®’s organic hair powder is the hip younger sister of mainstream dry shampoos: she’s eco-conscious, health-savvy, and has vague plans of packing her bags and moving to Portland. Analogies aside, this winning natural formula revives second day locks by absorbing volume-zapping oil. It has a lovely lavender scent laced with the faintest trace of herbal clary sage. And since it leaves no chalky white residue behind, even dark-haired girls can use it.
I like the smell and the idea of this, but it didn't work very well on my "next day" curly hair. I had to pull it up to get through work and wash it to look nice again.3
Smells better than I was expecting. Makes hair feel clean for awhile, but less expensive more effective dry shampoos are available.4
I love using hair powder to make my blowouts last longer and this works wonderfully, plus it smells awesome!5
Wasn't a big fan of the smell and baby powder better for me than any hair powder I have ever tried and it is way more inexpensive.4
I was really excited to try this product. I am a grad student with about a million things to do, so dry shampoo or talc powder has been my best friend in the past. This is the first product that is specifically called 'hair powder' that I've ever tried. When I tried it out I was going into day three of unwashed hair. Typically, I can at least go two days without washing my hair and it not looking greasy, so I figured this was a good test. I combed it through the top of my head near the scalp area and into my bangs, since those are the two spots that give away dirty hair-ness for me. I didn't notice any life changing effects from the hair powder. It gave me the same sort of results as using baby powder, it just smelled like lavender. I doubt I would ever buy this at full-size when they are much cheaper options out there.4
It's really great because it doesn't contain talc and it smells really good. It also does a really good job keeping my hair clean.
However, it is kind of hard to apply. It needs to come with a little brush-type thing to put it on with.
This does not work!!! Suave dry shampoo from Walmart does a better job. Shame.2
It smells wonderful but I can't see any difference in my hair and it feels gritty after using.3
I am a sucker for anything lavender and for a solution to my occasional laziness in which I fail to wash my hair. This satisfies the best of both dilemmas. The powder has a nice feel to it; as through it's definitely going to freshen your hair, but not so much as cake it with product. The scent is awesome and calming and it does a pretty good job making your hair look less of a sloppy mess. It seems a bit pricey, but also on par for most other decent dry shampoos and powders- and again, it's all natural, organic and not tested on animals. I plan on purchasing the full size once my sample starts to dwindle a bit more (there was a lot more there than I initially thought!).4
I am not familiar with dry shampoo so not sure it was necessary for me.3
