Lulu Organics®’s organic hair powder is the hip younger sister of mainstream dry shampoos: she’s eco-conscious, health-savvy, and has vague plans of packing her bags and moving to Portland. Analogies aside, this winning natural formula revives second day locks by absorbing volume-zapping oil. It has a lovely lavender scent laced with the faintest trace of herbal clary sage. And since it leaves no chalky white residue behind, even dark-haired girls can use it.
I have used much better spray dry shampoos. I did not at all like the smell. Suave and Tresseme have some great products that I like much more. And Ojon also is great though on the pricier side!2
I have a very oily scalp and I use this product every day halfway through the day to give my thinning hair some lift after the grease starts to take over.5
The hair powder has a wonderful, natural lavender smell. The hair powder did not leave any white residue on my dark hair. I have used Oscar Blandi dry shampoo before but Lulu hair powder is much better.5
This dry shampoo smelled so nice and natural, like being in a garden or a hippy homestead and it made my hair look clean enough for a night out. The vintage-style packaging was lovely, as well.4
This stuff smelled so nice and natural, like being in a garden or a hippy homestead, and definitely made my hair look clean enough for a night out "on a day of unwash." Precious old-timey packaging, too.4
I was about to buy this because I did end up using the whole sample. It was good for keeping my second-day hair non-greasy-looking.
But then I noticed the price, and that the key ingredients included corn starch and rice powder. Hello! I went to the grocery store, bought some corn starch and rice flour, mixed them in equal parts with a few drops of essential oil (bergamot was my choice) and behold, I have a product that works just as well, smells nicer, and is infinitely cheaper.
I think there are better products to splurge on!
The scent was a little strong, but pleasant all the same. It reminds me of an all natural shampoo without the shower part. Disappears completely when rubbed in and does a beautiful job!4
Found this worked just as well as some other dry shampoos i've tried but really liked how quickly it blended in. It also has a fantastic smell!4
This product worked in that it took away some of the oiliness in my roots, but it does have a pungent smell that reminds me of cologne--which must be the lavender. Also, I have dark brown hair, so it took a little bit of shaking my head around to get the white look out.3
There are trade-offs with this product. I like that my hair doesn't feel weighted down with this product, but I also don't get some of the body provided by my regular dry shampoo. Love the smell though.4
