We never used to look forward to scrubbing, but all that changed when we found this natural exfoliating cleanser. It keeps skin looking fresh and smooth without the irritation of other sloughs. The star ingredient is rice starch, which binds with water molecules to banish dirt and dead skin.
I'm not expert, but based on what my dermatologist had told me, I don't feel like this product is good for my skin. The fact that it's made by Origins makes you think it is, but I have been told by my dermatologist not to use exfoliators with large chunks in them. When I read that the tube said "natures microdermabrasion" I thought it would be a micro-bead exfoliator, which is the only kind I've been advised to use. But it was definitely not. It reminded me of St. Ives apricot scrub, which I used for years and recently stopped because I heard it's horrible for you skin.1
I found this "exfoliator" to be more of a slightly gritty paste rather than a sloughing exfoliator. I like my scrubs to have a super fine grit to them in a creamy base. This feels like I was putting oatmeal on my face. It doesn't smell very good, either.1
I usually like the brand, but I used this product while I was "spa soaking" in the tub. My skin started to burn a bit, even though I was gentle about putting it on. I had a live TV segment the next day and it burned so much I was afraid my skin would be red and irritated. It wasn't, but I loaded up on moisturizer after I took it off. Maybe it worked - but I don't want the burn.2
This microdermabrasion exfoliator was a little too grainy for me. It does not spread on the face easily and the grains are very abraisive.2
Looks like this is a great product, but unfortunately my skin did not agree. It was way too harsh on my skin and left it too sensitive after I use it. And I would only use a bit while I showered - learned to only use on cheeks and nose since other areas would hurt more. Just be careful.2
I DIDN'T LIKE ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE SCENT OF THIS. IT WASN'T NOT COMPATIBLE TO MY SKIN TYPE, AND IT BURNED BADLY!!!2
This product was baffling - in between a heavy lotion and an exfoliator. I felt it useless for purposes of exfoliating or smoothing out my skin, the beads were weighed down by the heavy base.2
I like other Origins products but this isn't anything special. It is also not that great at leaving a nice feel on my skin. Maybe it needs more moisturizing properties to balance it out?2
30 min after using this my skin started feeling itchy & I got red spots on some areas of my face2
This product is just ok... I have nothing blatantly negative to say about it- except that it is outrageously overpriced in my opinion. It has a nice texture although I found it to be a bit too gentle and the smell is fairly unappealing. This, combined with its price= no buy in my book.2
