We used to get frustrated that smoky eye tutorials didn't take the spectrum of eye shapes into account (after all, were a diverse bunch). Turns out we weren't alone. After nine years of research examining thousands of faces, the makeup pros at Smashbox narrowed it down to six common eye shapes found throughout the world: almond, round, upturned, downturned, monolid, and hooded. They applied their findings to this universal neutral palette, which comes complete with a guide to help you identify your eye shape and master three flattering looks for it (day, night, and defined). The top has seven shimmery shades and on the bottom, you'll find seven matte hues, ranging from nudes to blacks. Oh, and there's also a double-sided brush, a built-in mirror, and a travel-size Full Exposure Mascara.
Awesome product. Loved the quality. Colors were great. I did think the sample was super skimpy. A larger sample size would have been nice5
LOVE it but a card with some powder on it is not an effective way to sample a product. I did not even have enough to do a complete look on BOTH eyes. I could only do 1 eye!!
Great brand and product though
The sample card seems like a great way to provide a maximum number of samples at one time, but honestly I would prefer a fuller sample size and less color options so that I can play with the colors more than once.4
It was hard to tell from the size of the sample but it seems to be a nice eye shadow that stayed on well. I liked one or two of the colors but not sure I'd need the whole palate.4
I really love the colors in this pallete. Having the matte and shimmer of each shade is genius. The eyeshadows go on smooth and don't smudge at all. I will definitely be purchasing this pallete!5
This neutral palette would be great for people with darker features. For me it was a bit overwhelming. I love the quality of the shadows but the colors just aren't for me.3
Great color options and they stay put.... what more can you ask for?5
These shadows are pretty nice quality. I like how they go on, I like the colors. I can't justify another neutral palette for myself though!3
It may have been the colors I chose to use, but I did not like the way these shades worked with my skin tone. The matte shades barely showed up even after I applied primer, and the shades with more sheen were too sparkly for my liking.3
Shimmers and mattes included in this set. Colors are pretty and relevant.4
