I ws totally skeptical. I have skads of expensive foundation and powder. I never get my hopes up for a product. I subscribribe to 10 monthly boxes.
I even have the crazy expensive Pro MAC cosmo kit I bought in cosmetology school. The most disappointing item they make is their primer. It goes on like lotion, feels like lotion, and has no mattifying efffects at all. I am a huge fan og Dermalogica's matte primer as it smooths and conditions the skin. Also, even though it seems like an elderly woman's product, Mary Kay has a matte primer that is just unbelievable. Well, now I'm adding Smashbox to my primer list.
Anyway, I am rarely surprised with great product. However, Smashbox surprised me eith their bb+halo, primer, foundation and powder with kabuki style brush kit.
This Smashbox trio is a perfect combo. The primer mattifies perfectly and glides on the skin like a feather. When you add their surprisingly light bb foundation and follow with the powder which is loose and comes in an ingenious case that you turn to loosen the powder for application with the kabuki style brush you have the best combo I've seen in years.
I am in my thirties and get blemishes. I tried this for the first time in a beach town. Looking at the pictures from the trip, you would assume I was 25 and blessed with radiant, blemish free skin.
