Mexico’s blue agave is best known as the source of tequila, but we’re also intoxicated by its ability to moisturize and strengthen hair. Agave extract is a key ingredient in this healing oil treatment created by Beverly Hills hairdresser Fernando Romero (Romero, an Acapulco native, calls agave “nature’s smoothing secret.”). The lightweight oil helps hair build resiliency as it boosts vibrancy, shine, and color. We’ll raise a glass to that!
so on the one hand this stuff really gets down in your scalp to moisturize, and it's much easier to get it to the base of your scalp than other deep moisturizers I have used such as coconut oil. However, like most oils, it makes your hair REALLY oily. I suppose if you apply it right before washing it out with shampoo it might be fine, but I don't know that it will have a chance to completely moisturize if not give the chance to really sit in your hair and absorb. I'm thinking the best way to use it is to apply before bed and wash your hair in the morning. It would still take some serious washing though. It also made my hair appear darker, as a blonde I wasn't fond of that aspect. I need a product like this that I can apply to the parts that need the moisture on the go, I was hoping this would be that product, but it wasn't.3
I originally tried this oil as a sample in my birchbox and loved it to so much I had to purchase it. After washing my hair, I apply this yummy smelling oil to the ends of my hair and then blow it out as I normally do. The ends become super soft and hold whatever style I give it. In between blow outs, I use this oil at the tips to add moisture. It doesn't weigh down my hair at all!5
I've been fortunate to receive a handful of samples of this product from Birchbox over the past year. One little sample pouch typically lasts 3-4 uses on my super long hair, depending on weather and the condition of my hair at the time of use. What I love about this product (aside from the sublime, clean, somewhat tropical scent) is it allows you to lavish a little extra TLC on your hair on top of a regime that already works for you. You can also spot-treat--great for folks who have combination hair like I do. As the months get colder (and drier), I'm appreciating the smoothing, hydrating properties of this oil more and more. On low-key weekends, I'll wash my hair, towel dry, and apply a dime-size amount of the Agave Healing Oil Treatment. Once I've worked it through my strands, I put my hair up in a bun or wrap and let it soak up the magic!5
I am a huge fan of this product. I even own it now and it smells like heaven on earth. Makes my hair very silky smooth and conditioned5
It smells really great and its great oil for hair but I just dont use it very much..idk why really. I use a different hair oil n smoother that I love although its probably not as healthy, lol.5
I am always on the look-out for anything that helps add a little shine and smoothness to my hair without making it look greasy. This product did just that and smells great!5
This made my hair visibly oily. The sample was too small, and the paper package was hard to tear open.1
I got this as a sample in my birchbox & loved it immediately! My hair is dry & damaged and this stuff makes it look healthy!! It also smells good. I bought the full size & I am truly pleased.5
My hair is very finicky. Some days it is too dry, some it is too oily. I loved this Agave Oil because of a few reasons. First, a little goes a long way. Seriously. A pea size drop would be good for about shoulder length hair (such as mine). I was really happy that this made my hair so soft and silky, with out the greasy look!5
Nice tropical Scent. I don't really have frizzy hair, but if I did I would imagine using this product regularly.4
