Mexico's blue agave is best known as the source of tequila, but were also intoxicated by its ability to moisturize and strengthen hair. Agave extract is a key ingredient in this healing oil treatment created by Beverly Hills hairdresser Fernando Romero. The amino sugars in agave soothe damaged hair and infuse it with moisture. This fragrant healing oil treatment is also packed with plenty of other natural conditioning ingredients to boost vibrancy and shine while smoothing hair: vanilla, coconut, and baobab seed oil, to name a few. And its free of the stuff that's not so good for your locks: parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. We'll raise a glass to that!
I have only tried hair oil a couple of times, so I am still learning how to use these properly. This sample is small but it lived up to the name. A little pricey though.3
I was amazed.
Let me tell you a quick story. One year ago, I went through an emotional time and went through a moment of empowerment, thus deciding to bleach the side of my head. I bought the bleach and my manic panic color at Newbury Comics.
About 6 months later, the hair that I had bleached literally broke. Half the hair on half on my head was literally just gone.
Now, not only did this leave my hair very awkward looking, it was frizzy and rough as heck (the rest of my hair wasn't smooth either due to years of using box dye). I then decided to try a few products to undo this damage.
NEVER have I ever felt my hair to be so smooth, untangled, velvety as this product has made it feel. I'm two days into my treatment and it still feels as lovely as it did the first day I applied it.
I applied it to my hair right before I got in the shower. I waited about 30 minutes, stepped in, continued my regular shower regime of shampoo and conditioner. I even blow dried my hair.
I cannot wait until my next paycheck to purchase this product. It is the first thing that I have received from Birchbox that made my draw drop.
I really like this product! I've been using macadamia oil and this is great too. I will definitely keep in mind when I run out of my current product. The sample could have been a little bigger3
This was great for my dry frizzy hair. The cold winter has taken a lot of moisture out of my hair and this made my hair less staticy. Loved the smell and texture it left my hair.4
I received this in my February box, and while it did smooth my hair, it also made my hair appear oily faster. I can typically use an oil after straightening one day, and make do with a second day hair-do, but not with this product. I did, however, love the moisture it brought to my dry scalp!4
The smell of this product is divine. My hair is usually dry, so I used this oil after a shower one day and let my hair air dry. My hair ended up feeling very oily afterward and it drove me crazy. I wish it was just a little more lightweight.3
This hair oil is definitely effective. However, the first few ingredients are unpronounceable and clearly petroleum based. I'll stick with some hair oils that are more natural.3
With waist length, color-treated, thick, curly hair... sometimes I'm a frizzy disaster! I tried this both as a hot-oil treatment and as a styling oil and both ways work wonderfully. A yummy, coconutty scent gives way to smooth lovely waves. Definitely a must-buy!5
I have super long thick hair. I am sure that was in my profile. Sending a dime size sample is not going to do a thing for me. I suggest sending at least 3/4 applications. Maybe if i could effectively try the product I would purchase it in the end.3
I'm a huge advocate for hair oil and Agave rules - I can't wait to use up all my product to make the switch.5
