Does your blotting paper look like a piece of clear plastic wrap when you’re done wiping your face? If you answered “yes,” then it’s time to bring out the big guns. This gentle-yet-powerful clay mask from Paula’s Choice zaps grease, targets blackheads, and improves texture without drying skin or giving it that uncomfortably tight feeling. The result: remarkably soft, smooth, matte skin.
I bought this based on the great reviews and in hope that it would help with the oilyness of my face.
I tried using it two times and both time, just after a few seconds I applied the mask, my face would start hurting really badly, with a burning sensation. Note that it's not a tingle - it's a very strong pain and I had to run to the bathroom and wash my face right away, and the pain would persist.
Too bad, because the texture is really nice and easy to apply.
This mask is so different from the normal masks! It doesnt get tight, it almost soaks into your skin. I tried it on my hand the first time and after i washed it off, my hand was noticibly brighter and softer. It also has a nice smell. its really calm, and not at all perfumy. its a very nice, clean smell and it feels so good on my skin. Less oily, less red. Love it!!3
I am still testing this product. After the first few uses I did not see a significant change in my skin. Over time I think my overall pore size has been reduced, but I will have to continue using the product to attest to its long term affects.3
I have a few of Paula's products (Resist Antioxidant Serum, Vitamin C Serum, etc.) and had some Birchbox points to burn so I figured I'd try this mask. I use it once or twice a week on my t-zone and feel as though it helps loosen up the gunk that's living in my pores. Once I remove the mask, I cleanse with my facial cleansing brush and apply the serums mentioned above.4
This is another great product from Paula's choice. I have been using it twice per week and my skin is significantly less oily and redness is decreased. Not irritating and did not tingle on application. A key part of my weekly skin routine!4
I like to experiment with masks and this is a good overall basic oil-absorbing mask. It's not the best but it's certainly far from the worst. It's a good staple to use a couple times a week as part of my skincare routine.4
I am a collector of clay face masks because or my oily skin, but this one is pretty good. I wasn't sure how it would come out since Murad's Clarifying Clay Mask is one of my all time favorites, but this mask held up pretty well. it goes ok thin and dries restively fast with a tingling sensation at first. it does aboard a good amount of oil too so I usually use it in the morning to reduce my oily patches throughout the day.4
This product battles acne and aging. There is no smell. It goes on easily. They do recommend following up with a sunscreen after using the product.4
The only thing I did not like about this mask is the fact that it left my skin a little red after I washed the mask off but when I woke up in the morning it was back to normal. It did leave my skin less oily and I have yet to have a breakout but not sure I would repurchase just because of the redness, it was a bit uncomfortable til it wore off. I will have to try another mask to see if I can get the same results with less redness.4
I was looking for a mask so I came to my trusted Birchbox community! I love this mask. I think it's a great value too.
Really relaxing and refreshing mask. I ordered it to help with oily skin during the summer in the South. Would recommend to friends.
