Sometimes we wish we could go back in time and warn our younger selves about roasting in the sun (or worse, spending time in a tanning bed). While we’re no Marty McFly, we can still work to repair skin from past discretions, as well as shield it from future sun damage. This lightweight moisturizer from Paula’s Choice does just that: It reduces the appearance of fine lines and discoloration, repairs and firms, and protects against harmful UVA/UVB rays. Your future self can expect a beautiful, youthful glow.
I wear this everyday. Perfect for sun protection, hydration, and covering up mild redness and imperfection. Mostly non-greasy, though I require some blotting at the end of a long day.4
I will never purchase this again. I have combination skin, and have used several moisturizers that actually work and have spf in it. This actually leaves my face feeling dry, which is really weird since it's a moisturizer. It feels ineffective. I will never purchase this again, and am very disappointed that this was recommended to me by birch box, and am very confused by the high ratings.1
I use this in the summer when its more humid out. My face tends to sweat easily and this leaves a nice matte finish without being over drying. There is another product similar to this that is for dry skin that I'm currently using since it is winter and my skin is much dryer. Love both products!5
I rotate between this product and another as my daily moisturizer/sunscreen. This blends on easily which I really like. There is a slight tint which works well with my skin tone. Love that it is a mineral based sunscreen.4
This is a pretty good sunscreen for me, but it think it would be fantastic for someone with oily skin! I'm on a retinol so my skin can be a little flaky, and unfortunately this doesn't really provide the moisture my skin needs. That being said, it is still very light and provides a slight mattifying effect (again, this isn't something I need or want given my retinol use and drier skin). It hasn't caused me to break out which I appreciate. Please note this does have a light tint. Somehow this always ends up in my eyebrows and makes them look coated in product (not a good look). Usually I can just sort of brush it out, but it makes me hesitant to use this without a mirror nearby. The claims of this being able to lighten brown spots and discoloration is questionable at best, though the broad spectrum SPF should prevent further damage.4
I wasn't too happy at first with this product - I have medium tone olive skin and the tint in it is a bit too light and pink for me, otherwise I'd just wear it on its own, though it pairs great as a base for powder foundation!
However and most importantly I find this product is decently matte (even after wearing it all day) and I DO NOT break out wearing it! I've tried various sensitive skin/acne prone skin SPF products and they feel very heavy and I'll break out from it.
Two disclaimers with this review: 1) I am pregnant and my entire body including my skin is "off" 2) I started using this product right when the weather changed from warm to cool. BUT.... this is the first even moisturizer that makes my face feel dryer! Seriously, after use I end up with dry patches on my face and I need to use another product to actually provide moisture. Also, the liquid is tinted which I did not expect. It doesn't seem to leave color on my face but this was a surprise upon first use. I bought this in an effort to use more grown-up products but ultimately I will return to my regular drugstore moisturizer which has not let me down.2
This is a great daytime face lotion. It has a SPF of 25 with a slight tint. I use it on my face and neck. It provides great sun and skin coverage. I just bought a second one.5
I love this daytime physical SPF moisturizer. This is really perfect for those of us with oily/combo skin. It acts as a daytime moisturizer, SPF, primer and for me a slight mattifier all in one. There is slight light toned tint to it to keep the physical sunscreen from being too white. It is enough of a tint to offer some skin smoothing and on casual days I often wear this as my only foundation. Paula's Choice Skin Balancing line has totally changed my skin from a breakout prone, blackhead mess to make up optional. Fantastic skincare
I have been using this product from Paula's Choice for over a year. I originally purchased it directly from Paula's Choice but came to Birchbox to re-stock. I've tried many different BB and CC cream samples in my Birchbox and this is by far my favorite. It truly is super light and dries to a nice matte finish. I find the coverage is enough for me - with a touch-up of concealer under my eyes and around my nose. This is my every day SPF all year round. When I first used the product I thought it was far too beige for my fair skin but the color blends in really nicely.5
