A wise woman once said that a great shampoo is the foundation of great hair. Take her sage advice seriously, and stock up on this apothecary line’s zesty formula. Originally a hotel exclusive, C.O. Bigelow released it to the public after countless fans called to sing its praises. Infused with refreshing lavender and peppermint scents, it leaves hair shiny and clean every time you lather up.
I know people that would like it.. I love the smell, but really disliked the product.3
It cleaned my hair okay. Don't really like the smell it reminds me of dog shampoo.3
Still on the fence. The shampoo is VERY thick so had to water it down to even be able to work it through my hair. Very strong smell which is fine. Still trying to determine if this is drying out my hair or not.3
When it comes to hair care I only trust Kérastase or other Loreal brands like Pureology.3
seems like I need to use a lot of product to get my hair clean3
although the scent and natural aspect of this shampoo was nice, it took a lot to get any sort of lather going. made my hair feel kinda greasy ish. definitely a bigger fan of the conditioner. though this might work for someone else with shorter or thinner hair.3
This is a Bath & Bodyworks brand, not a high-end brand. I was surprised to find such a cheap brand in my birchbox. I've tried the brand before and like their scents, but I'm interested in higher-end haircare that does more for the health of my hair.3
NOt sure if I like it or not. It doesn't lather up. I know that is very European and the suds don't really do anything, but I sitll love a good lather. I like the smell.3
After receiving the C.O. Bigalow Lavender Shampoo and Conditioner in my January Birchbox, I waited a week to try them so that I could bring them with me on my birthday weekend getaway. Before I even comment on the effectiveness of the product, I must say that the smell hits your nose immediately and is extremely strong. I like the smell of lavender so this did not make me stray from using the shampoo, but even I had to get used to the potency of the scent. This is one of the major reasons I could not give the shampoo higher than a 7 on the rating scale. Scents are so personal and this can either be a hit or a miss with people. (For example, one of my other friends loved it while my boyfriend and another friend disliked it.) While washing my hair the shampoo did not lather up very well, but I expected that out of this shampoo. Despite the lack of suds, I could feel that my hair was squeaky clean after rinsing it out. I will not comment on the conditioner here since I plan on reviewing that separately, but after I got out of the shower my hair did not feel as tangled as it usually does. The drying time did not vary compared to when I use other shampoo and conditioner. My hair did feel soft and looked shiny (although I use argan oil after every wash) but did not have much volume. Overall, I would recommend this shampoo in terms of how well it works but I would suggest that one should smell it before they purchase it.3
I'm still on the fence about the lavender and peppermint combo. I'm hoping it grows on me!3
