Nail art will always have its place, but a new twist on this that we’re digging is the idea of nail architecture. Thanks to celeb nail artist and Nail Rock founder Zoe Pocock, we can build gorgeous nail looks with the likes of glitter, sequins, and other fancy add-ons.
I was very interested to try this nail polish duo in my box this month. I received the shade Velvet Navy. To start off, the formula of the nail polish is really good and goes on smooth. I had a little trouble when I dipped my finger in the velvet powder maintaining a consistent look. This look just isn't for me in my current career. However, I think this is a great idea and I would love to try the glitter kit.4
I got the green sequins and overall, I think it looks cheap. I might have been more enthusiastic about any of the other kinds, like glitter, but the sequins are just too much.1
I received the blue velvet and it came with a dark blue (almost black), and a container of blue velvet to create a nice texture mani. I am not a fan of dark shades or dark blue but am currently undecided if I will keep this or gift it to a friend. I wish I had gotten pink, at least I'd keep the polish and toss the glitter.5
I received the velvet navy nail polish in my January box and I was so excited to see it. I LOVE anything navy and I love matte nails. The nail polish was not bad... it dried super fast which is awesome. However, the matte powder was not so awesome. It didn't go on very evenly and got everywhere and ended up chipping very quickly. I tried it three different times and just didn't like it.2
I was thrilled to receive the Velvet Navy in my January Birchbox because I'd been wanting to try this. It's a beautiful look, and would be perfect for a night out. For more than a day or two the velvet wouldn't be practical, because just like any other flocked product, you will pick up lint! But for a night out, why not? I love the navy color and will probably use the nail color on its own even when I don't want to bother with the flocking. I also plan to try one of the glitters.5
easy to do and looks awesome! Cant wait to use it again! I am def going to buy this5
Textured nails is a cool idea and it does look cool. The only problem is the velvet polish feels gross and gritty. I'd prefer to use a polish that goes on smooth and clean. There were a few times while wearing the velvet polish that I'd noticed lint or something had collected on a nail or two, ew.2
I got the green glitter sample in my birchbox and really liked how it looked.
It took a little bit of getting used to to stop it being clumpy but the effect was great.
Cant wait to try other options
I am so obsessed with this product and I cannot wait to buy all of them in all shades. What a great idea and it looks awesome. Not only is this cool for all nails but this is an instant party nail - and I do love a good party nail. For anyone who enjoys fun nails you must get this - especially for $7. Love Love Love!5
I love the way my nails feel after the dust dries! It gives them such a cool look too! I hate that it takes so long to dry though, wish there was a way to speed up the process!4
