This all-natural setting powder from W3LL PEOPLE might just be our desert island product: used alone, the translucent formula controls oil, minimizes pores, and smooths our complexion; used over foundation, it provides serious staying power. Bonus: The formula is chock-full of nourishing botanicals, but free of the talc, dye, parabens, and fragrances that can irritate sensitive skin.
This power is great for mattifying, but is really grainy. If you put to much on the brush, you will have a film of grainy power on your face.2
I was looking for a translucent setting powder for everyday wear and purchased this one. It works okay, I'm not too shiny after a day at work but it feels starchy/talcy and requires much more blending than I would have thought. The packaging also seems cheap and flimsy especially considering the cost.2
I have dry skin so maybe that is why it is not for me. Seems to sit on the skin and not just blend in and disappear. The powder seems heavy to me. My if you have oily skin it would work better. I am 40's with dry skin, it doesn't seem to work well maybe there is a better way to apply not sure.2
Not quite sure how to use this product yet. I need to look up a tutorial. It seems to go on very white and I bought it to try the dewy glow look going on but my face didn't look the same way.3
I think the powder does a decent job of controlling oil, but I have used another similarly natural setting powder in the past that I was more impressed with. Also, when my shipment arrived, the powder had formed a solid chunk in the container and I've had to try to break it up to make the powder loose enough to apply. Not sure if this was due to the cold weather while it was being shipped or if mine was defective, but it's been frustrating to work around.3
I ordered this one without ever trying it before. I know that kind of defeats the whole purpose of birchbox, but I didn't think there would be any difference in setting powders. It does what it's supposed to in terms of setting my makeup and giving me a matte finish, my only complaint is the gritty feeling on my skin after I put it on. When I wear it, I just have to hope I don't have my movie romance moment and make sure no one touches my face!3
I have tried products like this and I think they are all the same but I like to use a setting powder and this seemed like a good one to try.3
I've been in the market for a translucent powder to use on top of my BB cream and according to the information here on Birchbox that's what this product SEEMED like it would be. However, when I received my product, it had different instructions and I learned that it is a PRIMER and that you should apply a powder on top, afterwards. A little misleading so I wanted to let everyone know. While I was disappointed that this was not really what I wanted, the product seems to work OK. Good quality but nothing too exciting that I can't live without.3
This is a great powder that works well, however it has an off putting smell that I just couldn't handle. I went to the Birchbox store in NYC to exchange the one I purchased for another one, thinking perhaps it was just mine, but they all smell like that. I ended up returning it and purchasing the rms beauty™ "un” powder, which works just as well, has no strange smell, and feels great on my skin.4
This is the best loose powder product I have ever used. If only it didn't have a strange smell when it goes on. Either I have gotten used to it, or it fades after a bit.. I will be ordering it agin, weird smell or not.4
