I recently purchased this and the corresponding shampoo. I have highly lifted platinum blonde hair. It's an endless quest to find a shampoo and conditioner set that both tones and hydrates, and that eliminates brass without turning my hair purple. R+Co Sunset Blvd comes closest to fitting the bill. I've used it 5 times now over the course of 2 weeks, and here's my two cents: Unlike many toning conditioners I’ve used before, this one isn't purple, rather it's silver. It has mica in the ingredients, and you can see sparkle in the product itself, and this sparkle translates to a lovely shine in my hair (since platinum hair is usually very dry, it often has a matte finish to it, so the shine is appreciated). The silver also does tone brassiness somewhat, but those whose hair is extremely brassy or yellow, or those who must wash their platinum hair in well water will still need to use a purple toning shampoo and conditioner in tandem with this set.
Overall, this conditioner really does hydrate and leave my hair feeling soft and thick. The packaging is cute as well, but doesn't really affect my opinion of the product – it could be in an unadorned jug so long as it works. I would have given this 5 stars, but for the scent. It's been my experience with toning conditioners that they are generally perfumey, and this was no exception. The fragrance itself isn't BAD, it's just too strong, both in this and the matching shampoo. It's like someone poured a whole bottle of perfume in each 8.5 bottle. And it lingers - I shampooed and conditioned 33 hours ago, blow dried and used a few other products, but I can still smell the flowery perfume scent of this product. Even going in my bathroom 33 hours later (and after others have used the shower) I can STILL smell it. If R+Co could tone down the scent of this product and the accompanying shampoo, they would have an undisputed winner in this blonde's book.
