This is a great product. Although it's described as a dry shampoo, given how much grit and hold it adds, I'd say it's also a texturizer and volumizer. Think Oribe dry texturizing or Serge Normant dry shampoo except in solid form. Scrape cautiously with your fingernails as a teeny tiny bit goes a long, long way. Also, the scent is light and fresh, but considering how little you'll need, it won't make a difference in how your hair smells.
I think I like it...
I have dark brown moderate thickness slightly wavy hair. I currently have 7 different dry shampoos under my sink from drug store to expensive brands and have tried a lot of others. So far this one seems to reduce the oil the most without looking ashy. It's not exactly intuitive to use (compared to a spray at least) and a little goes a long way but it definitely works and the smell is pleasant. I like that it also provides some volume. If you use too much I can see how it would make your hair super dry like other reviewers noted. I take about a pea sized amount, squish between my finger tips and rub at my roots, then run my fingers through that dreaded behind-my-neck greasy hair and repeat that maybe one more time if needed. I'm actually surprised that this weird space agey stuff works but it does.
I've never felt anything like this product... it is a cream that transforms into a powdery feel when you rub it in your hands. It lets you put dry shampoo on only the oily areas of your hair and gives serious texture in a 'bed head beautiful' kind of way. Genius!! A little goes a long way too. Will be using this all the time!
this product has changed up my hair game. i have a really oily scalp - as in, I have to wash my hair everyday. my stylist recommended doing my best to go 3-4 days between washes and I told her I couldn't do it - so she intro'd me to this product. my biggest piece of advice, is that the cream, when rubbed into its powdery texture, is best applied right onto your scalp where the oil builds up. it absorbs from your scalp and prevents that 2nd day greasy hair smell. do this before you get greasy, or apply in conjunction with davines hair refresher to keep soft and clean.
will repurchase forever
once you get used to the texture and how to use it on your hair, this makes the best day 2/day 3 styling paste especially for braids and textured messy buns. If I'm applying as a dry shampoo I'll apply it the night before so it can start to absorb oil overnight and I'm good to go the next day. I'm completely converted to this dry shampoo from my HG psssst dry shampoo.
