Birchbox Breakdown

Lulu Organics®’s organic hair powder is the hip younger sister of mainstream dry shampoos: she’s eco-conscious, health-savvy, and has vague plans of packing her bags and moving to Portland. Analogies aside, this winning natural formula revives second day locks by absorbing volume-zapping oil. It has a lovely jasmine scent and doesn't leaves behind a chalky white residue.

How to Use

Sprinkle a quarter-size smount of hair powder into your hands, and rub them together so a thin coat is covering both palms. Work through your roots. For best results, brush your hair immediately afterwards to help evenly distribute the powder.

*organic corn starch, white clay, baking soda, *organic rice powder, *organic horsetail powder, *essential oils *USDA Organic & Oregon Tilth Certified Organic

My favorite!
Purchased

At first I hated this because (I'm an idiot and) dusted it directly onto my hair. It made me look like I had a powdered wig. Then I tried putting it in my hands, rubbing my hands together and running it through my hair. Turns out, that's exactly what it says to do on the bottle and it works great! It doesn't build up like other spray-on dry shampoos do and one container lasts forever.

Absurdly overpriced

This stuff is absurdly overpriced. The main ingredient is organic cornstarch -- here, 30$ for 4 oz., or you can buy 6 oz. of organic cornstarch for 3$ from your local Whole Foods. Which is also where you can buy a very similar dry shampoo with argan oil and lavender essential oil for 11$. I don't see why this stuff is 3 times as expensive as the organic luxury brand dry shampoo I can buy at Whole Foods.

I love it

I love this dry shampoo. It comes with perfect sample size and it smells amazing!! The only downside its that application can be a little bit messy from the sample. I'm not sure how the full size product is. I would definitely get it if it werent so pricey.

Terrible waste of money
Purchased

I'm not sure what this stuff IS supposed to do, but it doesn't work like other dry shampoos. I have heard great things about this brand, but this product simply does not work. At all.

good but probably not worth the price
Purchased

I used this looking forward to the scent, since the hair powder I've been using (Klorane) is just kind of blandly powdery. The scent from this is pretty mild and fades immediately, and the method for application leaves much to be desired. I much prefer the squeezable plastic bottle on the non-aerosol Klorane hair powder. I also find that there's more oil buildup the next day with this one. Won't be repurchasing.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

I've had lots of dry shampoo's before, just for a touch up or to refresh my look when I've accidentally put too much other product in it. This is the best! You only need a tiny bit, and it's not all white and leaves residue like you think a powder would. I have very fine hair and love the volume this adds, plus the smell. A must have!!!

Mediocre oil absorption, no scent
Purchased

Like others have mentioned, this has little to no jasmine scent, which is one of the main reasons I wanted to try it. Was hoping everyone else just had a bad sense of smell... :(

On top of that, its oil absorption power is mediocre. I've been using Frederick Fekkai's discontinued hair powder, putting it in at night and waking up with fresh and fluffy hair. Lulu's powder DOES leave less white residue, but it doesn't absorb nearly as much oil as Fekkai's. I always have to use a little bit of Batiste spray dry shampoo when I do my hair the next day.

Overall, I'd say if your hair is only a little oily you will probably enjoy this powder. But if you're like me and your hair is greasy by bedtime, Lulu's will not impress.

very disappointed.
Purchased

I can't believe this was $30. I was saving my points just for this product and I finally got it. It looks fantastic for a few hours but that's it. It goes back to gross and greasy very shortly. I also do not enjoy the smell what so ever.

It Works!
Purchased

I absolutely love this dry shampoo! I have gone from washing and styling my hair every single day, to every other day. Now I am avoiding breakage and damage to my hair from over processing it. I do seem to use a pretty good amount of this product at one time, but it also seems to be lasting. I love that it is natural and organic which is very important to me.

not so exciting
Purchased

I use dry shampoo a couple times a week, and was looking forward to having something with a nice fragrance. It hardly smells at all, I would call it unscented before I would call it Jasmine. The product it self seems to work ok, very mess to rub in your hands first, so find I just sprinkle on my roots and rub it in well. I would not buy this again.
