I live in the South, where we suffer from gross humidity about 10 months a year, and this product did not pass the test. The only way I could get pretty, soft curls was if I stayed inside a well air-conditioned house until my hair was dry. If I tried to venture out into the humidity within and hour and a half of showering, my hair was a total frizz ball. I added a layer of anti-frizz hair spray and that seemed to help a lot but alone, this product was "meh."
Not what I expected...
This gel is runny - more like a liquid. It doesn't take much though to go a long way. It helps to cut down on the frizz, helps keep the hair from gaining volume throughout the day. I live in the Southeast US, and this product works during the hot, humid summer months.
My favorite gel
I have been using this gel for several years now and it is my favorite. It does a great job at helping my fine spiral curls keep their shape. It can take a little trial and error at first to find the sweet spot between not enough gel and too much gel.
3b - Not for Me
I have extremely thick type 3b curls. This product really doesn't do much for my hair. It has a thin, almost watery consistency and almost no smell. It might reduce frizz a little, but it made my hair feel very dry. It doesn't work any better than much cheaper gels.
I got this as a sample in my birchbox. It worked well against the hot humidity in Texas.
