I used to get regular gel manicures, but felt that the process was damaging my nails. Deborah Lippmann's Gel Lab works really well....beautiful shine and long lasting color.....without damaging my nails. Last so long I have to remove because my nails grow out, not because the color is chipping/wearing off!
White it's certainly better than, it doesn't live up to a real gel manicure. I like it better than regular gel manis, it doesn't compare to regular gel manicures. Good for the money!
I was a little hesitant to buy this due to the high price, but when I had some extra money I thought I would treat myself and I definitely am happy with this purchase. I had a few mishaps while putting the base coat on so I had one spot that was a little raised but otherwise everything went on smooth and my nails look great! The color is super glossy and looks a lot like the real gel manicures. It's been 3 days and not a chip yet! Very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone!
This was definitely worth the price tag! The polishes give you the look of having a real gel manicure without having to use all of the additional supplies and you can use any of your regular nail polish. It also dries a lot faster then using a regular top coat
This product worked well, I have very soft nails that split easily and the product went on smoothly and quickly. I chose a light pink french manicure appearance and even though I hit my nails several times and was scared to look, my nails had no chips or cracks! They look very shiny and smooth and I added an extra layer of the top coat and the manicure lasted more than 1 week. Usually my nails chip in 1 day. I will definitely use again. Impressed and when I took it off, my nails were in great shape!
Works exactly as described. When reading through other reviews, I believe that the key is to make sure nails are completely clean prior to starting process. I used polish remover with acetone after pushing back cuticles etc., so all traces of cuticle remover was off of nail bed. I'm on day 5 and none of my nails area chipped (my nails last about 2 days if I'm lucky with regular mani). I also made sure to brush the tips, as noted in the instructions and to wait a full minute between each coat (base, two layers of color and then top coat). Just a brilliant product!
I have used this system three or four times now. While I love how quickly it dries, how nice it looks initially, and that it easily comes off with regular polish remover, I have found that the finish seems soft (for lack of a better word). After a day or two I have dents in my polish or one time even had the polish pushed back from the top of my nail about halfway down, as if I had tried to put my hand in my pocket while my nails were wet (which did not happen). I have followed the directions for letting it dry in between coats, etc. so not sure if it's user error or if my expectations were too high. Bottom line, I like it ok but for the price tag, probably not worth it.
I bought this gel polish to save a little dough between salon visits. It performs more like a thick top coat. And with a little experimenting I have had the best results when using other brands polish (sorry Deb!) between the gel lab. It's definitely doesn't have the durability of real salon gel but it's definitely longer lasting than my usual polish. I think it really depends on your nails...my thin nails bend easily so the gel chips within 3 day or so. But hey that's better than just polish, for me at least!
I moved out of my apartment on day 3 of this manicure, and I only got 2 small chips. I am so impressed with this set! Don't expect a gel manicure, because it clearly isn't one, but it does make my regular polish last a lot longer than it would normally!
It doesn't last as long as a salon gel manicure, but it's still better than your typical at home polish job. It's really important to make sure your nails are really clean first. I found it worked best if I the coats were dry in between and only use 2-3 coats of color. It doesn't really seem to help nail art. With that in mind, I can go 3-4 days before I see any chips, which is impressive for me. That includes cleaning the bathroom (without gloves), doing dishes, laundry, reorganizing my bedroom closet, going to the gym, and taking a bath.
