The moment I applied this to my face it started burning. I don't have super sensitive skin normally either. Good thing there's a company like Birchbox, whose sample hopefully saved several customers with the same issue from spending a lot of money on the full-size version at any retailer.
I enjoyed this exfoliant for about 4 seconds - then I felt like it was ripping my skin off. My face was sore after using this. This product was far to abrasive for my face. It might be good on elbows or feet though.
I'm sure the product works for some people but because I have brown skin I found that this
product gave my skin some discoloration. I used it gently as described but I still received
hyper-pigmented areas on my face. I've had microdermabrasion done by a dermatology's in the past with great results, but have not had luck with do it yourself products like this one.
I don't think this product is for me. I don't usually have skin issues until I put a bunch of product on my face and I don't like to put a lot of stuff on my face.
I have very delicate skin, I swear a product could just be on a shelf and make my face miserable. Despite that I gave this a go, it was just to harsh for my skin. Red spots of blood raised to the surface of my skin (but not broken skin) from using as directed.
This product was a little too rough on my skin. I don't typically have overly sensitive skin but once and a while my skin can react to products. It feels a bit smoother than some exfoliants I've tried but the after effect on my skin was long-lasting redness and irritation. Not similar to an allergic reaction. I like the brand overall and haven't been irritated by any other products they make.
This was a nice exfoliator, but nothing I couldn't get from the grocery store. When I saw the $78 price tag, I actually laughed in disbelief! Get a nice, mid-priced brand and spend the extra on a fancy Boscia mask.
I don't know why, but I definitely did not have the same experience with this product as most people seem to have. First off, just smoothing it onto my skin gave my skin a burning sensation (thought it was maybe due to some menthol, but don't see it in the ingredients). Once I get rubbing I find it extremely scratchy. Once it's rinsed off, my skin looks exactly the same. Zero difference. Zip. And now it hurts from the burning sensation.
I have something similar that I bought from Birchbox - dermo grade aluminum crystals, sulfate free, natural ingredients (plus half the price) and I love it, it makes my skin exfoliated, plump, and glowing. I have no idea why something so similar would produce such a different result. Guess it's just not a match for my skin. Plus the price it completely ridiculous.
I wanted to love this product. I am looking for a new gentle exfoliater but this one is just not for me. I have dry sensitive skin and the first time i used this it burned a bit but i thought i would give it another try. So a week later i tried again. It burned my face, and the smell burned my eyes. I will use up the sample on my body.
Sorry just too harsh for my hyper hyper sensitive skin.
