One of the true leaders of the BB craze, Dr. Jart+ came blazing on the scene stateside a few years ago and has since been acquiring cult status. Arm yourself with this set of beautifying creams, which provide light coverage while nourishing and soothing skin with a host of good-for-you ingredients (think: antioxidant green tea, chamomile, and argan oil).
I wanted this to so badly work for me. I have a darker olive complexion and this only comes in one "universal" color that's supposed to oxidize with the air and blend into your natural complexion. It just was way too light and the undertones were way too ashy for me. So I ended up covering it with a layer or drug store Bb cream and it gives me great smooth coverage. I just with dr jart made this available for more skin colors2
Every one of these was too light for my complexion, didn't blend in very well. I was not impressed, there are better quality bob creams for way less money.2
I was so excited to try these samples - I had gotten a small sample of the Water Fuse BB Cream in one of my Birchboxes - but all of the other ones were way too pale for me. It's weird because the Water Fuse is a fine color. Anyway, they sadly had to be returned.3
I was doing research on BB creams and this brand came up as recommended on many sites. I got the set to try out the options and I don't much care for a single one. Even with hyaluronic serum, moisturiser and primer, none of these apply smoothly or as sheer as I'd like. They each LOOK like I'm wearing a layer and that isn't what I'm going for. I buy BB or CC to even out how my skin looks, not to look like I've applied spackle with a trowel.3
I lovvvve BB cream, so I was so excited to try this set to test out some different types. I was pretty disappointed. Each of these BB creams are way too watery/liquidy. I like a BB creame to have substance and smooth on, absorbing into my skin with a bit more coverage. However, these creams don't do that. They definitely help with discoloration, but not as well as other BB creams I've tried. I'm just not impressed with these :(3
I tried all of these for about a week each and my skin broke out like a 12 year old in the height of puberty. not for me. I need natural lighter coverage.3
This stuff is great! I mix it with a highlighter for a little luminosity though. My favorite is the gold. It is like the mama bear of coverage (to use a Goldilocks and the 3 Bears analogy). The black is also a nice medium coverage just a bit more whitening (which I don't really love looking paler). The red is too heavy and the water one is too light.4
I received a sample of the Dr. Jart Premium (gold) BB cream and loved it, so I decided to try this set to compare the other BB options. I really liked all of them, except the Water Fuse (blue). It was the only one that had a strong sunscreen fragrance to it. I didn't really notice much difference between the red and black label. Ultimately, I picked the full size of the Premium (gold) because it packs the most SPF. I use it as a daily foundation -- goes on smooth and the tint is beautifully natural-looking.4
These are very generous "samples" of each BB cream, and each should last a long time. There is enough of each BB cream to thoroughly test each of them, this is very important since they are all fairly distinct in tone and texture. Great for anyone that can't decide what suits their skin type/tone best!4
I love Dr. Jart BB creams, especially the ones with sunscreen since I try to be very good about applying it every day. REally good amount of coverage for a BB cream too. I use it as a foundation sometimes and it covers just as well as my regular foundation, but with slightly less staying power.4
