One of the true leaders of the BB craze, Dr. Jart+ came blazing on the scene stateside a few years ago and has since been acquiring cult status. Arm yourself with this set of beautifying creams, which provide light coverage while nourishing and soothing skin with a host of good-for-you ingredients (think: antioxidant green tea, chamomile, and argan oil).
I love Dr. Jart BB creams, especially the ones with sunscreen since I try to be very good about applying it every day. REally good amount of coverage for a BB cream too. I use it as a foundation sometimes and it covers just as well as my regular foundation, but with slightly less staying power.4
I love Dr. Jart+ BB cream. This is a great deal to try out and see which you like the best. You get really good size tubes and they will last a couple months for sure! I like the Black tube - Detox, the best. Will be buying it when I'm out of them all. The 2nd runner up is the red tube which is very similar to the black. The blue tube is more hydrating and little more sheer. The gold is a skin brightening and i think it's similar to the blue one.
Also it has a good amount of coverage.
One thing is that is comes only in one color. For fair - light skin. Which works great for me. I am actually light/medium but this puts on a good base to start so my contouring and bronzers shows up well.
I bought this sample pack after getting the black BB cream as a birchbox sample. By far, that one is the best one out of the 4. The blue one which is suppose to hydrate does do well in the winter months on my dry skin. The red one has a pinker hue to it, or to me it does, which is something I don't need. The other one (gold) is a weaker form of the black one. It was fun to try and I'm glad I did so I wouldn't always wonder if there was a better one than the black BB cream. It does have a heavier coverage than the others; it's more like a foundation than a light BB cream.5
I purchased a full-size Dr. Jart BB Premium a couple of years ago and used it faithfully until it was gone. I introduced it to friends with aging skin problems like mine (dryness, break-outs, sunspots, etc.), and this has proven a great product. It provides light coverage AND sunscreen. I was excited to purchase a sample pack to determine if the Premium was the best available of Dr. Jart. It has been very helpful to sample the others. Having said that, it is back to the Premium for me when I am ready for another full-size tube. Additionally, I have used BB creams from other manufacturers, and I keep coming back to Dr. Jart. So far, nothing compares.4
Wanted to try out a few shades/formulas of Dr. Jart's BB cream and this was perfect. I was ultimately able to settle on a fave and have since turned my mom on to the product with a similar set.4
I wanted this to so badly work for me. I have a darker olive complexion and this only comes in one "universal" color that's supposed to oxidize with the air and blend into your natural complexion. It just was way too light and the undertones were way too ashy for me. So I ended up covering it with a layer or drug store Bb cream and it gives me great smooth coverage. I just with dr jart made this available for more skin colors2
I love Dr. Jart. I use these foundations everyday. So light and covering, I almost need nothing over it. Instantly evens my skin tone.5
Definitely recommend if you're wanted to figure out which Dr. Jart BB is right for you. I found that each vary slightly in coverage, color, and texture. The Anti-Aging one is my favorite because it most matches my skin tone and is somewhat thicker than the others, although I really wouldn't say it actually prevents or reduces the look of wrinkles. Sample sizes are great too (pretty close to full size, not what you get in a monthly sample box), as a little goes a long way with these, so it's actually a steel for the money (and better than spending the same amount for one full size product and not liking it).4
Used all 4 different ones and they all work for me. It's best on fair skin. My mom broke out using product but she had very sensitive skin.5
I've switched to a BB cream as my daily foundation, mostly because I love the idea of using a makeup product that's better for my skin. At 33, I'm much concerned about what I put on my face than I was in my twenties. I loved the idea of being able to try several options before committing to a single cream. I've tried drugstore brands, but they are little more than tinted moisturizer, and I wanted something a bit more substantial.
I've had the opportunity to try two of the Dr. Jart samples from my kit - Water Fuse and Detox. Water Fuse has the consistency that I'm familiar with - lightweight but very blend able. Detox is a good bit thicker - it's truly more of a foundation texture than a moisturizer. I wasn't sure I'd like it, but for work and date night, when I like a little more coverage, it's great. I think I'll prefer one of the lighter versions better for the weekend.
I agree with the other reviewers regarding the color - it's very light. I'm usually the second lightest shade in face makeup, and these match my skin tone beautifully.
