In 1977, Jane and Jean Ford, the twin sisters behind Benefit, met a local dancer who requested a long-lasting red pigment that wouldn’t budge during her shows. They listened, and this beloved rose lip and cheek stain was born. Year after year, it’s a bestseller for good reason: the translucent color leaves us with a natural flush so we look pretty, not made-up.
Benetint is wonderful--it is super blendable and gives you a natural-looking flush. Plus, it smells like roses! I will definitely purchase it again! It is one of my favorite Benefit products.
I was looking for a lip tint that would stay on and this stuff definitely does. I do wish it was a little darker and have yet to find a easy way to apply and blend (without using my finger which quickly becomes stained red). I didn't realize it wasn't completely dry and will admit the taste is not good (not a mistake I made again).
Bottom line, this is good for a light cheek tint but I'll keep looking for a lip tint.
I think I need lessons on using this product. I either have too much or not enough. Any suggestions for me to try?
This is one of my all-time favorite products. It is a great tint for your cheeks and creates a beautiful blush, but it is not a lip tint! I don't know why they advertise it this way. It is way too liquidy to be used on the lips in my opinion.
I liked this but didnt love this... I worked great as far as color but it didnt last for me and the taste was weird. The initial look was great though.
I tried using this to put a nice natural looking tint on my lips for the work day and I was not really happy with the results. I felt like I had to keep on applying layers to get it to show at all. What I really did not like about the product though was the smell. Maybe this is something some users will like but it wasn't for me. It smells like roses and I thought that was weird or off to have on your lips. I haven't tried using it on my cheeks but I definitely will because I am a big fan of the natural look with a little bit of help from makeup.
I'd wanted to try this for a long time, so I was excited when it came, but it was a bit disappointing. It's a little streaky (although it does make a nice flush when sufficiently blended). Mostly, though, it doesn't last super long and it dried out my lips. Still, it's a very pretty color.
I've been using cheek/lip tints for almost a decade, and Benetint is the original and possibly the best. It goes on lighter than most tints and has average staying power, but the color is gorgeous. I can see it matching every skin tone.
Benefit cosmetics really shine with some of their more understated products - and this is certainly one of them. It stains lips without leaving any weird residue and it smells like roses. The applicator reminds me of nail polish (don't confuse the two) but the rest of the packaging is great.
I haven't tried this product on my cheeks yet, but it is the perfect shade of pink/red for lips! I like to layer the color for a more dramatic effect and then put lip balm over!
