I had heard of Jane Iredale for years, long before "mineral makeup" was a thing ... and folks, there's a reason this company has been around a long time with such a loyal fan base: it's good stuff.
The primer is AMAZING, and I'm not a primer girl. I seriously never saw the point, but THIS primer smells so good and makes your skin feel so smooth, you'll wonder how you ever managed without it in your bag. It is probably my favorite component of this set.
The makeups are both excellent, as well; unlike some other mineral bases I've tried, these don't seem "sparkly" or "shiny" upon application. You can certainly go for a light application or layer for more complete coverage, but no matter how much you pile on, you'll never feel weighed down or look "cake-y". The brush that comes with this set, while a decent little brush, is really too small to do a good job, though. The bristles aren't long enough or dense enough to really "absorb" the loose powder, no matter how much you try to work it in, so it seems like quite a bit of product goes airborne upon application. Switch to a larger brush for the loose powder or a sponge applicator for the pressed, and you're good to go. (Comment about color: the MEDIUM is a yellowish medium, on the warmer end of the warm/neutral/cool spectrum.)
Finally, the Pommist. I really does set your makeup nicely, and smells delicious, but the spray isn't as fine as I might like (but I suspect that's the result of a non-aeresol bottle, so okay).
The bag is very nice, as well, and large enough to hold everything else you need for your face on a daily basis.
I will def. be spending my money on the primer again; I may try a different shade of the pressed base in the future (something not quite so warm, although the medium is fine when I have a little sun-color); and I will certainly use the Pommist that came with this set, but don't know that I NEED it to finish my look, so those dollars may go elsewhere.
