Birchbox Breakdown

Life is full of fleeting pleasures—don’t let your makeup job be one of them. This oil-free primer ensures that your foundation stays just where it belongs: on your face. The sheer gel absorbs instantly and clings to both powder and liquid foundation. Bonus: It’s rich in skin-loving antioxidants A, C, and E.

How to Use

After applying sunscreen or moisturizer, massage a generous amount of primer into skin. Follow with Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Crème Compact SPF 20. (Pro tip: Stick this tube in the fridge 15-20 minutes before use. The cooled gel will have a delightful depuffing effect on skin.)

not a great primer
Purchased

I previously purchased MAKE primer from Birchbox, which I absolutely loved, ran out, and it ended up being out of stock. I decided to purchase Laura Mercier after hearing rave reviews practically everywhere online. I wore it for about three months. I'd put it on at 7am; and by the time I'd get home, my face, especially my forehead, would look greasy. I also started getting a bunch of pimples on my forehead after using this product. I just purchased Pur Minerals primer (also from Birchbox), and within a couple weeks of using it, my pimples are disappearing. I will not buy Laura Mercier again.

Break out city.

*sigh* I love Laura products but this one made my skin break out like no other. 

Holds look together

My skin is semi-oily, and I have acne as well as acne scars. When it comes to school dances, I am the most concerned about my makeup being able to stay on. This primer helped my foundation and concealer stay in place, regardless of sweat or oil.

Love it!

First time I find a product so light with coverage, I simply love it and blends beautifully with my olive skin.

not for dry skin

I have an oily t zone and a few dry areas, I love Laura Mercier products so I think I will try the hydrating primer instead of the oil free.
