Fairly happy with this purchase, however, the herbs are outgrowing the tiny jars! I guess it's not much of a complaint, and I shouldn't be upset with large plants, I just wish the homes were large enough to contain them.
otherwise, a wise purchase.
Proportions off, need more supplies!
The idea here is so cute! I live in an apartment with indirect sunlight, and have had difficulty keeping anything alive.
The pack didn't come with enough stones to put a 1" layer in each of the four jars (the volume instructed by the video tutorial). So I only used three of the jars. The seeds did sprout, and the plants are alive and well! But I can see the roots making their way down to the water layer, so I wonder if they will grow high enough to grow useable leaves before I have to replant them into bigger pots.
Currently I have basil, cilantro, and parsley all growing. I was surprised at the ease of assembly and how quickly my first shoots came up--basil was first, less than a week later. Cilantro quickly followed. Parsley was the late bloomer and continues to be a bit scraggly, but hopefully it will continue to thrive.
My only complaint is that they included clover in this set. I think its an odd choice, when all the other herbs have culinary uses. I didn't plant that one because I have no use for it; I'll save that last jar for a time when I get my hands on some dill or oregano seeds.
This herb set was so fun to make and all supplies were included making it a breeze to assemble. I'm not sure how well it takes for the herbs to grow and be usable but I'm very excited. Also only needing to water ONCE a week is perfect for my busy schedule and busy mind. I love this product just as much as I love fresh herbs! Also check out the other products from this company they have some really cool DIY products made easy. Amazing!
I just planted them last week and they are already starting to sprout! I have them sitting in my window seal and they look super cute. The mason jars are a bit smaller than I expected from the picture but it really doesn't matter when its all together.
