When Bing Crosby crooned “Moonlight Becomes You,” he very well may have been referring to this platinum metallic hue, which was inspired by the moonlight over Rome. The silvery-taupe shade, created by the NYC fashion label and available exclusively through Birchbox, adds a gleaming twist on a neutral nail lacquer—for a look that’s equal parts classic and unexpected.
How it Works
Each polish is created to hold up for days without chipping, and unlike most metallic shades, this one applies completely streak-free. We love how Ruffian’s deco-inspired bottles look on our vanities, but we especially love how the unique bottle shape helps us get a good grip on the cap for controlled, steady application.
How to Use
Before painting your nails, start with a clear base coat to set a smooth foundation for the polish. Next, apply one to two coats of nail polish in smooth, even brushstrokes. Once it’s mostly dry, apply a top coat to seal your nails and add a boost of shine. Clean up any stray color around the edges with a Q-tip or small brush dipped in polish remover.
