When first squeezed from the container, the product looked moderately grainy. Applied to my face, however, it felt thick and coarse, and it dragged in clumps rather than smoothing easily across my skin. The fragrance was earthy with dirt undertones. Fortunately, my skin didn't react to the scent, or to the blue-grey color of the product (which might be natural to the ingredients rather than created with dyes).
Taken altogether, I'd describing using this product as a "homegrown spa" experience, like scrubbing my face with mud from the yard and bits of gravel from the driveway. Though it might have resulted in an uncomfortable overall skin "polishing" (after a lot of rinsing), it was not refreshing, and not worth repeating.
