Birchbox Breakdown

As professional photographers and smartphone snappers alike know, a little adjustment—be it a Photoshop contrast or an Instagram filter—can go a long way to making your subject look glamorous. But with this primer, we can do the smoothing-out. The lightweight formula softens skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines, and the hint of green counteracts redness.

How to Use

Smooth a pea-sized amount over clean skin. Wear alone, or wait one minute and then apply foundation.

I always have redness on cheeks and it really bugs me so I purchased this to help. It does help a little. The redness goes down slightly when I use this product. However, it's not good enough for the price. I was really hoping it would dim the redness a lot given that the reviews are so good. I guess I'll be searching for a new one.

Reduces Redness

I really love this product! I have super red, fair skin. I was not sure that it was really doing anything, so after six months or so, I stopped for a couple days. MULTIPLE people asked me if I had been in the sun or if I was feeling okay because I looked flushed. I mean, really. I have probably used it for three years now and every once in a while, I try again to leave it off for a couple of days. I always get the same comments, confirming its effectiveness! The texture feels great, completely non-greasy. I am not sure how great it is for keeping makeup place. I don't really notice it doing a stellar job at that, but I do not have any complaints, either!

My first primer

I've never used primers before. Loved this one. Was lightweight and covered the redness I have. Will definitely get more.

Smashbox

I like this primer. Smashbox has the best primers. This one corrects redness pretty well, without turning my face green like other primers.

Food dyes

Why oh why are there so many brands that use Yellow #5? I really want to try this product but I will break out in hives when Tartaric Acid (yellow dye) is ingested thru lipstick or topically applied. I wish more companies gave a food-dye free option. There are natural ways to tint beauty products. I have and do pay more to ensure my makeup is free of these chemicals.
