Birchbox Breakdown

A favorite of fashion bloggers, off-duty models, and the rest of us on the hunt for an easy weekend look, the ubiquitous topknot shows no signs of abating. But much like winning a round of Candy Crush Saga, the seemingly simple ’do can be tricky to master. With this plight in mind, hair genius Sarah Potempa created The WRAP UP™, a nifty tool that helps you score the perfect topknot, sleek chignon, or tousled low bun. Made with strong, cushy foam, The WRAP UP™ secures your updo without the help of a zillion bobby pins—. Three hair color-matching options, Black, Brunette, and Blonde, ensure your secret weapon remains a secret.

How to Use

Pull your hair into a ponytail on the top of your head (or lower, depending upon your preferred style). Hold the end of your pony straight up in the air, and slip it through the center hole of The WRAP UP™. Now roll it down your pony, spreading and tucking hair around it as you go. Once you reach the base of your ponytail, bend the sides of the grip to secure your bun—no bobby pins needed.

Love but keeps breaking

I absolutely love the look that I get from using this product. However I've purchased two of these and both have broken after ~6 uses. The metal is very flimsy. I wish it was made better but I can't justify spending the money to constantly rebuy it.

LOVE this but on my third!

I absolutely love this product - I tried it at the Birchbox store and loved it so much I bought it on the spot, thinking I would never be able to replicate the perfect bun on my own. But I did and I use this all the much that they keep breaking!

Works SO good!!!

I was skeptical when I first saw this because I've tried those other foam rings for buns, and using a sock was always way easier. However, this thing is awesome! The way it pinches the hair at the end helps you to get your layers more evenly into the bun. It's great!

To small

I got this free in one of my box's but it need's to be large because my hair is down to my waist. When I put this small one in my hair it's to small. It needs to be a larger bun. And it would look a nicer. So please try and get it in large please. Or if anybody know's where I can get a large one.

simple and effective

Thank goodness for this little tool. I can do a top knot just fine but any other kind of hair style seems out of my range. I was able to whip my curly hair into a pretty and simple half up style while running out the door for a wedding. It held all night and was completely comfortable, no pins necessary. I haven't tried to use it for my full head of hair, which is extremely thick and runs fully down my back. I don't think it would hold up with that amount of weight but I'm not sure. Otherwise this thing was a lifesaver.
