My husband is thrilled that I found this product! I love a red lip for going out and typically once it's on, no kisses until the end of the night. But not with this tint! I just refresh it with a balm every now and then. Love the color. Love the price.
Finally! A red for me!
Stays on, WAY on, be careful--this tint is pretty permanent. The cherry syrup smell is nice but doesn't overpower you. I have pretty yellow-toned skin, so most reds look too artificial and awkward on my lips. This one works, still looking like a true red without the orange side-effects I'm used to. Like most tints, it'll grab onto dry spots in your lips so be sure to moisturize beforehand.
Splotchy and Settles in
I really wanted to love this tint, but it really underperformed. Although I loved that cherry syrup smell, the tint went on splotchy. Even if I applied it as evenly as possible, some places turned out darker than others, and in other places, it barely tinted it, even with multiple applications. Also, make sure your lips are super moisturized and exofliated, because this tint will grab onto dry patches and excentuate them.
Good for gradient lips
This stain is more pronounced and longer lasting than the benefit stain. It is perfect for doing a pouty gradient with just a dab in the center of your lips.
Pretty color, nice brush, lackluster product
Nice, bright, true red when you first apply it.
Goes on nicely and allows for a bit of overdrawing without feathering.
Brush is great, both in shape and texture for getting the job done.
Has a pretty pleasant, unobtrusive texture once set and doesn't dry my lips out.
Sets and fades to an ugly rusty color, like almost the same shade as dried blood. Clumps of the product gather in both corners of my mouth after about two hours of wear.
Have to reapply frequently(kind of defeats the purpose of a lip stain, no?).
Has a cloying candy smell and tastes terrible.
Consensus: I'm not sorry I tried it, and I would be willing to give this company another shot with one of their better-known products. I'm just glad I decided to use my shop points and didn't spend any real money on this. For a $6 price point, I guess I shouldn't expect too much.
